Urban Pack | Who We Are
Urban Pack is an intentional cooperative community of dogs and dog-people. Our mission is to help dogs and people live their best lives - to thrive together through shared learning, mutual care & support, and movement & play.
We - dogs and dog people - are an Urban Pack. Most humans now live in cities, but even humans in rural areas are relatively urban compared to the wolves this idea is modeled on. The overall idea of the interdependence of wild wolves is a good framework for how we can thrive together as a community in our urban environment.
And, the dogs we now live with evolved from the wilderness to live beside us. Being with them can serve as a helpful reminder that we are a part of this planet - just like every other living thing

In many ways, I think all the experiences of my life have led me to this moment - where I want to make the best possible contributions to support the health and well-being of the planet and all the living things that call it home - including people and the dogs they love.
I have always been a dog and animal lover. I grew up in a small town in Southern Maine with many pets - including dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters. Along with the other kids in my neighborhood, I spent hours each day exploring and playing in all kinds of rural and suburban spaces. I was a multi-team sport player - any game, any where, any time! And, I have always been an artist - making creative connections, seeing patterns, and looking for new solutions to challenges and problems.
