The Urban Pack Community

We - dogs and dog people - are an Urban Pack.  Most humans now live in cities, but even humans in rural areas are relatively urban compared to the wolves this idea is modeled on.  Clearly, urban packs are NOT wild packs.  For example, dominance has no role in human interactions or human-dog interactions.  But/and the overall idea of the interdependence of wild wolves is a good framework for how we can thrive together - and the core idea for what we’d like to build with you and other like-minded people.

The strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.  How do we live this idea together?  We’re envisioning partnerships between a wide variety of folks - neighbors helping neighbors, businesses in cooperation & collaboration with each other, networking between different services and professions, and creating new services.  For example, can we foster connections between older (and perhaps also differently-abled) neighbors with dogs and folks in their area who don’t have dogs but would like to be with dogs and maybe even learn more about how to train and work with dogs?

We’ll explore these ideas more in upcoming blog posts…so stay tuned and chime in with ideas of your own!
